MUSICAL THEATRE 17-10-12

RACHELS LESSON:

-Presentation in assessment week.
-We worked on our new modernised script.
-Josh wasn't in

The presentation: Was about youth centres and schools that we could perform our T.I.E groups in.

In our research, we found out what places facilities are like, and what they can offer, in terms of lighting and sound etc..
We looked on the internet, Google, school websites and more to find out places that we could  perform.

-First Maisie and myself worked together. We went on Davisons website, and researched their rehearsal spaces, lighting, and students that would want to come and watch (GCSE Students). They didn't have what we were looking for at all, the stuff we needed was wrong and the space required wasn't big enough either.
-Second we researched Durrington High School, first of all I didn't really know what I was looking for on their website because it didn't have the special links to go to, so we emailed Durrington explaining what we wanted and what were doing this performance for; we didn't get a reply.
-Next we showed the presentation that we put together of our findings to the class, and also listened to everyone else's presentations and saw what they had found out.

Second part of the lesson

We got our new script and worked on a scene to show the group, his time Josh took control. We worked on the scene where Finn is looking for new members to join the Fiana and a Musician, Warrior and Physician come along and want to do a rigourous initiation to get in the Fiana. All four of us chose a character to play - Maisie was the musician, Grace was the warrior, Josh was Finn and I played the physician. Together we had to come up with ideas of what to do, so we decided to let Josh direct.
He had an idea that we all stand in a line like army men do nowadays and then Finn (Josh) asks and tells us why you should join the Fiana and what you have to do to become a good leader, but whilst doing this we were all standing upright in a line and reacting to what Josh (Finn) says. One by one we would step forward to tell Finn why we should join the Fiana, this idea worked well, because we all had our own little stories that we he had made up for Josh to then decided who should join the Fiana.
